"All good things must come to an end." It's a pretty common phrase but I'm really not a fan of it. Seriously, whoever came up with it must have had a rough life or something. Sure, each chapter in our life has to end at some point and life will show us many new places, friends, and experiences that may or may not last long, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that "All good things must come to an end" is a pretty pessimistic way to look at life. If you really think it's true then maybe you aren't reflecting on your experiences in the right way.
This week is officially my last week at the zoo. Only 40 hours on the clock stand between me and the end of an incredible experience. So yes, it is true that my internship is coming to an end, but here's what's not...
The friendships I have formed with the wonderful staff members at the zoo.
The friendships I have formed with the awesome animals in the education department. (S/O to Doug!)
The incredible wealth of knowledge that has been shared with me.
The experience in nonformal education, animal handling and care, customer service, and so much more.
The priceless memories of laughing until I cried just about every single day.
The fact that my childhood dream of becoming a zoo keeper came true!
Goodness gracious, am I going to miss this wonderful place! I am so thankful for this incredible experience but I know that it won't end when I walk out of those gates on Friday.
